[edit] Biographical Information

Fred Bailey played three years in the big leagues. He was one of seven players at Washington and Lee University during the period 1910-20 who came to the majors.

Manager George Stallings brought up both Bailey and Art Rico at age 20 in 1916. The following year Bailey and Rico remained the youngest players on the team. In 1918 Rico was gone, and Bailey played his last major league game on April 27.

Bailey also played 21 games for the 1918 Toronto Maple Leafs who went 88-39, a team which also featured King Lear.
