Frank Umont played football with the New York Giants from 1943 to 1947.

Umont began his umpiring career in the Western Carolina League in 1950. From there he went to the Piedmont League in 1951-1952 and the American Association in 1953. Umont was an American League umpire for twenty seasons, from 1954 to 1973.
