[edit] Biographical Information

Frank Reiber was in the major leagues from 1933 to 1936, spending his entire career with the Detroit Tigers. During his 11-year minor league career, he apparently started as a middle infielder but fairly quickly became a catcher. His highest batting average was .315 with Beaumont in 1932.

Reiber hit in the .270's during his time in the majors in 1933, 1935 and 1936. In 1934 he had only 3 at-bats, and didn't get a hit. His lifetime major league batting average, therefore, is .271 in 85 at-bats. His minor league career batting average was also in the .270s (.279).
