Second baseman Frank Koene played for the Giants Diemen (1984-1987), Almere (1988-1989), Kinheim (1990-1994) and HCAW (1996-1998) in the Hoofdklasse. He had 417 hits in 429 games. He played in the 1987 Chung Hua Tournament. He became assistant coach of HCAW in 2001, then was their head coach in 2002. He coached from 2003-2005 in Eerste Klasse. In 2006, he became head coach of the Pioniers, guiding them to the Holland Series in 2007. He resigned in June 2009. To that point, he was 93-57-3 as a manager in the Hoofdklasse. In 2012, he guided UVV to a 25-16 record but was replaced by Ferenc Jongejan prior to 2013.
