[edit] Biographical Information

Frank Knauss pitched well in 1890 for the Columbus Solons of the American Association, going 17-12 with a 2.81 ERA that was third best in the league. After that, he had a few appearances each year in the National League in 1891, 1892, 1894, and 1895, going a total of 0-4 in those years.

Knauss knew how to draw a walk, getting 12 walks to go along with the 24 hits he achieved in 1890.

When he jumped to the Cleveland Spiders in 1891, he was a teammate of the 24-year-old Cy Young, who was a year older than Frank.
