 Biographical Information
Frank Genins played three seasons in the majors. In the minors he played from 1887-1909, sometimes as a player-manager.
In May 1901 while playing with Omaha, Genins had an extremely rare "home run" from a strikeout. The catcher failed to catch the third strike when the ball hit the plate, bounced off the catcher's shoulder, and went out of play. The ump let Genins round the bases. The July 2, 1892 issue of Sporting Life carried an article called The Genins Case, about a dispute about who owned Genins. Chris Von der Ahe was criticized in the article.
