[edit] Biographical Information
In May 1901 while playing with Omaha, Frank Genins had an extremely rare "home run" from a strikeout. The catcher failed to catch the third strike when the ball hit the plate, bounced off the catcher's shoulder, and went out of play. The ump let Genins round the bases. A couple weeks later in May 1901, Genins was part of a great comeback when his team (this time the 1901 Cleveland Blues) scored nine runs in the ninth. See Nine in the Ninth.
