[edit] Biographical Information
Catcher Frank Bruggy played five years in the majors, serving as the first-string catcher for the 1921 Phillies. He then became a backup catcher for the 1922-24 Athletics, a team managed by former catcher Connie Mack.
He hit over .340 in the International League in both 1919 and 1920.
He was one of the earliest major leaguers out of Seton Hall University. The school produced a number of major leaguers around that time, the most prominent of which was Red Shannon.
He was from Elizabeth, NJ, which like Seton Hall, is not far from New York City.
