Frank Anderson (1959-)
Frank Anderson is the father of Brett Anderson and is a college coach.
Anderson was a junior college All-American as an outfielder at Mid Plains Junior College. He got a bachelor's degree in physical education from Emporia State in 1983 and a master's in 1985. In between the two degrees, he became coach at Emporia State. In 1987, he became an assistant coach at Howard Junior College. From 1990-1999, he was an assistant at Texas Tech University. He became pitching coach at the University of Texas from 2000-2003; in 2002, his staff had the second-lowest ERA in NCAA Division I and the school won the 2002 College World Series. In June 2003, he became head coach of Oklahoma State University. He was fired by OSU in May 2012, partially a victim of scholarship limitations (incurred before he took the job) and a budget that lagged behind other schools in the conference. He was hired as pitching coach at the University of Houston for 2013.
