Floyd Patterson won the 1929 Three-I League batting title with a .348 average and the 1934 Western League batting title with a .366 average. Overall Patterson had 2,027 minor league hits to go with his .335 average in 1,636 games.

Patterson scouted for the Philadelphia Phillies (1949-1955), Cleveland Indians (1956), Los Angeles Dodgers (1961-1962), Milwaukee Braves (1965-1968), and Montreal Expos from 1969 until retirement in 1972. Also scouted for the He scouted Steve Rogers (along with Ray Hayworth for the Expos.
