First night game in MLB history
From BR Bullpen
Under nearly 1,000,000 watts generated by 632 lights, the Cincinnati Reds defeated the Philadelphia Phillies on May 24, 1935 at Crosley Field. The night was full of pomp and circumstance as President Roosevelt flipped the switch to turn on the lights from the Oval Office in Washington.
Paul Derringer was the winning pitcher as the Reds took the game 2-1. The game was also notable as no fielding errors were committed despite the game being played at night.
