Felipe Lopez was released by the Washington Nationals on July 31, 2008. He was then signed by the St. Louis Cardinals on August 5, 2008. He signed with the Arizona Diamondbacks for the 2009 season.
Lopes was a starter for Puerto Rico in the 2009 World Baseball Classic.
