Felipe Alou Jr. is the son of former major league manager, Felipe Alou and elsa brens. A 40th round draft pick by the Kansas City Royals (1998). Played minor leagues for the Royals farm system through the 2002 season, and the Canadian Baseball League in 2003. He is the brother of major league outfielder Moises Alou and minor leaguer Jose Alou, nephew of Matty Alou and Jesus Alou and cousin of former big leaguer Mel Rojas.
Alou is currently (2008) working for the Baltimore Orioles as a Dominican operations assistant.
