Félix Fermín was a shortstop in the major leagues for a decade, noted for his bunting ability. He was originally signed in 1983 by Pittsburgh Pirates scout Pablo Cruz.
Fermin has won a record five Dominican League titles as a manager. In 2007, he managed the Monterrey Sultans to the Mexican League title and took the team back to the finals the next year, losing to the Mexico City Red Devils.
His son Andy Fermín was drafted in 2010.
