The Leones del Escogido are a team in the Dominican League. Through 2008, they had won 12 pennants. They have won two Caribbean Series. Founded in 1921, the club is based out of Santo Domingo. Felipe Alou, Jesus Alou, Matty Alou, Juan Marichal, David Ortiz, Sammy Sosa, and Alex Rodriguez are among the most famous players to appear on the Lions' roster over the years.
