Ernie Pantusso

Ernie Pantusso, nicknamed Coach, was a character on the American television sitcom Cheers. Pantusso, played by Nick Colasanto, was the former pitching coach for the Boston Red Sox. He became a bartender when his former student, Sam Malone, purchased a bar in Boston.

The character of Coach was killed off the show when Colasanto died in 1985.
