Ernie Kish was an infielder for one year in the minors (1941) and one year with the Philadelphia Athletics in 1945.
Kish was at Ohio University during the years 1939-1942, overlapping with the time there of Frank Baumholtz. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard in World War II, and played on the service team at New London, CT along with Hank Majeski, Joe Astroth, Randy Gumpert, Babe Young and Ken Wood.
He worked 40 years for his mother's dress shops with stores in Akron, OH and Cleveland Heights, OH. He took over the operation of the business in 1963 and retired in 1989, closing the shops.
He died at age 75 at the Western Reserve Health Center in Kirtland, OH and is buried at Lake View Cemetery in Cleveland, OH.
