Eric Nadel is a long-time Texas Rangers' radio broadcaster. He was named the 2006 Texas Sportscaster of the Year by the National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association. He previously won the award in 1999 and 2001-2002. His 13th season as the lead voice on the Rangers radio broadcasts will begin in 2007. He has been with the club for a total of 28 years so far, longer than any broadcaster in Rangers history. He was raised in New York City, as a New York Yankees fan. Shortly after Nadel came to Texas, Mark Holtz joined him on the radio broadcasts, and Holtz was the lead voice of the broadcasts for many years before switching to TV in 1995. Holtz later passed away following bone cancer surgery.

In 1995, Nadel became the lead radio voice, joined by Brad Sham, who is a famous Dallas radio broadcaster, nationally known for football broadcasting. Sham did not stay with the Rangers for very long, and Nadel has worked with at least 2 partners since, most notably Vince Cotroneo, (who formerly worked for the Houston Astros alongside Milo Hamilton), and currently Victor Rojas, who is the son of former major-league manager Cookie Rojas. Nadel recently signed a deal which contracts him with the Rangers for the rest of his life. He was elected to the Texas Baseball Hall of Fame in 1991.

Nadel is also an author, and wrote a book detailing the first 25 years of the Rangers existence, after they moved to Arlington, TX when the expansion Washington Senators left the nation's capital. The time-frame of the book culminates with the Rangers finally winning their first A.L. West title and making the playoffs in 1996. Also, Mr. Nadel is well-loved for his work on the "A page from from Baseball's past" radio clips, which describe notable moments and odd facts from the earlier years of Major League Baseball history. He had a similar radio-clip show about pro basketball too, tiled "A page from Basketball's past." Eric has great interest in MLB history and has written at least one book based on his baseball series.
