Elvio Jimenez played one game in October 1964 for the New York Yankees, getting 6 at-bats and two hits. His career was mainly with the Tigres del Licey, where he played from 1958 to 1976. His nickname was "Mulito". He continues to be with Licey as a coach.
He played in the minors from 1959-71, hitting .300 at numerous stops including .368 for Modesto in 1960, .331 for Augusta in 1963 and .340 for Columbus in 1967.
He is the brother of Manny Jimenez. They were both early players from San Pedro de Macoris. Elvio managed the 1993 DSL Giants/Phillies/Astros. As a scout, Jimenez signed José Offerman, Pedro Báez and Willy Mota.
