Catcher Eddie Malone made his pro baseball debut in 1938 before serving in the Navy during World War II. After the war, he played for the Los Angeles Angels of the Pacific Coast League for two and a half seasons before joining the Chicago White Sox in 1949. After his time in the majors ended, he returned to the PCL and played more than three years with the Hollywood Stars before ending his playing career in 1954.
Malone was the youngest manager in O.B. in 1942 when he led the Duluth Dukes. [1]
