After a brief stint in the big leagues as a player, Eddie Bockman went on to have a long career as a minor league manager and scout. Bockman managed the Albuquerque Dukes in 1955, the Visalia Cubs in 1956, and the Amarillo Gold Sox in 1957-58. As a scout for the Philadelphia Phillies, he signed Bob Boone and Larry Bowa.
Bockman's brother, Morley Bockman, played in the minor leagues from 1948 to 1951.
Bockman missed 1943 to 1946 due to military service during World War II.
