Catcher Eddie Perez spent parts of 11 seasons in the majors, mostly with the Atlanta Braves and primarily as a backup. When he did get a chance to play regularly, he showed a little pop in his bat, hitting 7 homers while filling in for injured backstop Javy Lopez in 1999 and bashing 11 dingers while the Milwaukee Brewers' starter in 2003.
After his big league career ended, he was a Mississippi Braves coach in 2006 and also played in 13 games for the team. Following that season, he was promoted to the Atlanta coaching staff as bullpen coach.
