[edit] Biographical Information
Eddie Bane was a star pitcher for the Arizona State Sun Devils in the early 1970s, including the 1972 team that lost a heartbreaking final round game to USC 1-0 in the 1972 College World Series. Drafted by the Minnesota Twins, Bane developed arm trouble and pitched in only 44 games with a 7-13 record. He pitched in AAA through 1980.
Bane managed the Batavia Trojans in 1984 and 1985. He scouted for the Cleveland Indians (1984-1987) and Los Angeles Dodgers (1988-199?). Bane then was special assistant to the GM of the Tampa Bay Devil Rays from 1999 to 2003, and was Scouting Director of the Los Angeles Angels from 2004 to 2010. He moved to the Detroit Tigers as a major league scout in 2011.
