[edit] Biographical Information
Pitcher Ed Head of the Brooklyn Dodgers threw a no-hitter against the Boston Braves at Ebbets Field on April 23, 1946. The same season, he had an arm injury that ended his career.
- He played for Montreal in 1941.
- He was in the Army from June 1944 to November 1945.
- One source on the web claims that Ed was a star pitcher in high school who was in a major automobile accident around 1932. He had pitched with his left arm, and after that had to learn to pitch with his right arm. See Weaknesses and Strengths.
