Although Ed Cermak was born in Cleveland, OH, died in Cleveland, and played his one major league game for the 1901 Cleveland Blues, he spent most of his professional baseball career playing for teams in Texas.
He died in 1911 after being hit in the throat by a baseball while serving as an umpire in a minor league game.
