Biographical Information

Pitcher Ed Head of the Brooklyn Dodgers threw a no-hitter against the Boston Braves at Ebbets Field on April 23, 1946. The same season, he had an arm injury that ended his career.

He played for the Montreal Royals in 1941.

He was in the Army from June 1944 to November 1945.

One source on the web claims that Ed was a star pitcher in high school who was in a major automobile accident around 1932. He had pitched with his left arm, and after that had to learn to pitch with his right arm. See Weaknesses and Strengths.
