Ed Hanyzewski, from Indiana, was at the University of Notre Dame from 1939-41 and by 1942 was in the majors. He spent five years with the Chicago Cubs.
Hanyzewski also played for Milwaukee in the minors, going 7-2 in 1942 and 5-1 in 1943.
After his baseball days he became a policeman in Fort Wayne, IN.
