Ed Gagnier, one of the few major leaguers born in France, played in the Federal League in 1914-15.
He had a long minor league career, beginning in 1904. In 1906 he did significant pitching, going 16-9 for Lincoln. From 1906-11 he played for Lincoln, primarily as a shortstop, and getting at least 500 at-bats each year from 1907-11.
