A former industrial powerhouse as home to Westinghouse Electric, the tiny municipality of East Pittsburgh, PA was at one point home to one of the largest factories in the country. Part of "Electric Valley", it was a hotbed for radical and socialist politics during its boom period. Like many towns in the Rust Belt and in southwestern Pennsylvania, it faded away in the latter half of the 20th century.
