East Dixie League
From BR Bullpen
In 1934 the Dixie League split in half, forming the East Dixie League and West Dixie League. The East Dixie League played two seasons as a class C league then became the Cotton States League. There were eleven cities that represented the league during the two year run. Six were from Mississippi, three from Arkansas and two from Louisiana. The Pine Bluff, AR team won the league championship both years, also copping the playoffs in 1935. The Jackson, MS squad won the playoff title in 1934. As of this date there has been no more "East" Dixie League.
