[edit] Biographical Information
Earl Pruess drew a walk in his sole major league plate appearance, stole a base, and scored. His lifetime OBP is therefore 1.000.
Pruess had the nickname "Gibby", the only major leaguer to have that nickname without actually having "Gibson" or "Gibbons" as a first, middle or last name.
He is mentioned in a baseball poem included in the book Line Drives: 100 Contemporary Baseball Poems.
