First Baseman Earl Browne hit over .420 for the Owensboro Oilers in the KITTY League in both 1946 and 1947, while serving as player/manager. Browne was also player-manager for the Hartford Chiefs (1948-1949) and Denver Bears (1949-1950). His first name is listed as "Earle" in the McMillan Encyclopedias.
