Dylan Lindsay was signed by the Kansas City Royals in 2008, one of at least three South Africans to sign with MLB clubs that year (Gift Ngoepe and Hein Robb being the others). Lindsay was on the South African roster for the 2009 World Baseball Classic. In the Classic, he relieved Robb with one out in the 9th against Mexico. He got Karim Garcia on a liner and Scott Hairston on a grounder to end the inning. He is slated to play in the 2009 Baseball World Cup.
