Shortstop Dwain Anderson played four seasons in the major leagues, playing with four teams. He broke in hitting .270 in 37 at-bats for the Oakland Athletics in 1971, when they won 101 games. The following season, he hit .254 playing mostly for the St. Louis Cardinals. He slumped in 1973, splitting time between St. Louis and the San Diego Padres, but in his last major league appearances in 1974 went 1-for-3 for a .333 average with the Cleveland Indians in 1974.
Anderson played in the minors between 1965 and 1974, typically drawing a lot of walks. He hit 15 home runs for Iowa in 1970, where he was a teammate of Vida Blue, Tony LaRussa, Marcel Lachemann and Rene Lachemann.
