[edit] Biographical Information

Frederick "Dupee" Shaw pitched six seasons in the major leagues, most notably going 30-33 in 1884. In addition to appearing 211 times as a pitcher, he was also in the outfield 37 times. He pitched in the National League and the Union Association, but not in the American Association.

The most similar pitcher is Hardie Henderson, who also pitched from 1883-88 and lost 121 games.

He was called either Dupee or Fred. His nickname was "the wizard", sometimes lengthened to "the wizard of the south-paw".
