Infielder Duane Larson was drafted by the San Diego Padres in the 17th round of the 1971 amateur draft and played in the minor leagues from 1972-1976, including a little time at AAA; he later managed in the minors.
In 2008, Larson is a Special Assistant to GM for the Atlanta Braves.
