Doug Waechter, as of 2006, is the only player in Major League history with a last name that starts with "Wae". There is one players in the minor leagues currently that may have a chance to "threaten" this title one day-New York Mets prospect Nicholas Waechter. At least one other retired minor leaguer also had a surname that began with "Wae"-Danny Waeichli.
