Doug Schreiber

Doug Schreiber is a college coach. He is the son of longtime high school coach Ken Schreiber.

Schreiber played summer league ball on the same infield as Barry Larkin and Jim Leyritz in 1983. In 1985, he played for the Cotuit Kettleers when they won the Cape Cod League title. Schreiber was second baseman for Purdue University from 1983-1986. Through 2009, he is first in Purdue history in walks (132) and 4th in runs (159).

Doug was a graduate assistant at Ball State University in 1991-1992 and an assistant at Butler University in 1993 and the University of Notre Dame in 1994. From 1994-1998, he was recruiting coordinator and assistant coach at Arizona State University.

Schreiber was appointed head coach of Purdue University in May 1998 and was 253-252 after 9 seasons in that role; no Purdue coach had a winning record since the 1910s.
