It is commonly pointed out that Double Joe Dwyer did not hit a double in his major league career. He played for the Toledo Mud Hens in 1939 and 1940 as part of a minor league career that stretched from at least 1924 to 1945.

Although Joe appeared in 12 major league games, he didn't appear once in the field.
