The brother of Oil Can Boyd and son of Willie James Boyd, Don Boyd played one year in the minors. He was taken by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 15th round of the 1973 amateur draft. A second baseman, he played 22 games and hit .234/~.314/.247, stealing 6 bases in 10 tries.
