Dixie McArthur pitched one sole inning in the majors, giving up 0 earned runs. He surrendered one hit and no walks, getting one strikeout. It was with the 1914 Pittsburgh Pirates of Honus Wagner.
He had previously pitched for Hopkinsville of the Kitty League in 1913, and he had attended Bethel College in 1913-14. He was the first player ever to come from Bethel College (TN), and one of only two in the history of major league baseball.
