Dickie Flowers was in pro ball at the start, in 1871-72. He was above average in 1871, playing on a team with Lip Pike. He played for the Philadelphia Keystones in 1868-69. He later became a fireman. His obituary in Sporting Life stated that he started with the Quaker City club in 1867. He dropped dead suddenly, from heart disease, said the article.
