[edit] Biographical Information
Dick Teed had only one at-bat in the major leagues, for the 1953 Brooklyn Dodgers who won 105 games, but he also had a long career in baseball.
He played for the Montreal Royals in 1950, 1955, and from 1958 to 1960.
After a trade from the Dodger organization, Teed finished 1960 as a player/coach for the Williamsport Grays under Frank Lucchesi. From 1961 to 1963, he followed Lucchesi as player/coach with the Chattanooga Lookouts, Williamsport again, and Arkansas Travelers. He managed in the Philadelphia Phillies system from 1964 to 1967. Teed then was a scout for the Phillies from 1968 to 1977, then for the Los Angeles Dodgers starting in 1978. Among others, he recommended the signing of John Franco.
Grandfather of Bryan Barnowski, who played in the minors from 1999-2003.
As of 2004, his Brooklyn uniform [1] was for sale by his family.
