[edit] Biographical Information
Dick McLaughlin was signed by the Kansas City A's in 1958 as a pitcher. After going 2-1 but with a 10.71 ERA in the class D Nebraska State League, McLaughlin did not play in 1959. He returned as a OF/1B in the Los Angeles Dodgers chain from 1960 to 1970, spending the last 5 full seasons at AAA, but never reaching the majors.
After retiring as a player, McLaughlin scouted for the Dodgers from 1971-1977 and managed in the Dodger chain from 1976 to 1980. He was a coach for the Albuquerque Dukes in 1982-1986 and 1995-1998. Leaving the Dodgers, McLaughlin was the minor league Outfield and Baserunning Instructor for the Texas Rangers in 1999-2001.
