Dick Kitamura also known as Masashi Kitamura

Infielder Dick Kitamura played for the Mainichi Orions for three years. He hit .205/.257/.244 in 42 games in 1952 and .241/.304/.266 in 1953, when he set a record with 32 sacrifice hits (a mark since broken). He batted .214/.262/.282 in 1954. In 279 games in Nippon Pro Baseball, he put up a .222/.277/.270 line. He coached the University of Hawaii baseball team in 1969, the year before the Les Murakami era began.
