Dick Hunt hit very well for a lousy team. He played in 11 games in 1872, hitting .313 for the 1872 Brooklyn Eckfords, who hit only .219 as a team while going 3-26 in their only year in the National Association.
Hunt and Tom Patterson (who hit .191) had the most time in center field for the Eckfords.
A player named Dick Hunt, presumably this one, was an infielder with the New York Mutuals in 1866 and the Brooklyn Stars in 1869.
