Dick Clark was a minor league pitcher one year, 1948, with the Newport Canners of the Mountain States League. Clark led the league that season with a 20-9 record and an ERA of 2.72, and was a member of the league's all-star team. Why such an excellent season was his only year in OB remains a mystery. He was related by marriage to Joe Harris and his three brothers.
