[edit] Biographical Information
After a thirteen year professional playing career, pitcher Dick Egan spent time as a scout. He was the Texas Rangers bullpen coach in 1988 and 1989, a minor league coach in 1990, and managed the 1991 Butte Copper Kings. After spending the next decade working in the Florida Marlins organization, he joined the Detroit Tigers as a scout in 2002. He was named Special Assistant to the General Manager of the Tigers in 2007.
