Derek Carlson has been a college coach.
After being a 3-time All-Star at Brandeis, Carlson remained there as assistant coach from 1991-1996. From 1997-2002, he was assistant coach at Wheaton College. He became head coach of Roger Williams University in 2003. He set a school record with 34 wins in 2008, winning the Commonwealth Coast Conference Coach of the Year. He was 141-139-1 overall through six seasons at the helm.
