David Cortes allowed no runs in 3 2/3 innings in four games in the 2008 Final Olympic Qualification Tournament. Cortes was awful in the 2009 World Baseball Classic, allowing 5 hits, 2 walks and 5 runs in one inning of work, including a Chris Snelling homer. In all three of his outings, he was replaced by Dennys Reyes.
