Pitcher Dave Wallace played in the Philadelphia Phillies (1970-1977), Toronto Blue Jays (1978) and Boston Red Sox (1979) chains.

Wallace retired after the 1979 season, and coached the Vero Beach Dodgers (1981-1982), San Antonio Dodgers (1983), and Albuquerque Dukes (1984-1986). He was the Los Angeles Dodgers minor league pitching coordinator from 1987 to 1994. He also served as pitching coach for the Dodgers (1995-1997) and New York Mets (1999-2000) and was interim GM of the Dodgers during the 2001 season. Wallace became pitching coach for the Boston Red Sox in 2003, when he took over after Tony Cloninger left the team due to illness (cancer). He missed half of the 2006 season due to hip replacement surgery and left the club for good following the season. Following the 2006 season, Wallace joined the Houston Astros as pitching coach. In 2008 he is the "Special Assistant to the Executive VP, Pitching Development" for the Seattle Mariners.
